August - November 2008: KENTNER introduce LOGOS

KENTNER in cooperation with GIGATON introduce the warehouse management system LOGOS. Supplemental solutions for our requirements were designed jointly in a time-consuming manner for the Kentner Logistics Park and the associated smooth commissioning. GIGATON represent themselves as very competent to us, so that we jointly strive for a long-term cooperation. We found another very competent partner for the racks and warehouse technology at the Kentner Logistics Park in BITO.

June 2008: Work starts on new build of Kentner Logistics Park

When space starts to get tight, it’s time to expand: this is the Kentner mindset. On a 70,000 m² site on the Herbrechtingen motorway exit a multi-user warehouse is being built in future-oriented dimensions. The Logistics Park will have over 40,000 m² of storage space, of which 10,000 m² is planned for heavy goods. Especially for this a 40 tonne crane is being installed with the option of using another 40 tonne crane if required. In addition there will be 35,000 palette spaces, 4500 m² co-packing or handling areas, plus 800 m² of office space. The complete facility will be equipped with the most modern industrial trucks and the relevant IT systems. For delivery and collection there will be 50 gates which can be accessed by both heavy goods vehicles, as well as conventional or jumbo lorries. Investor is the company Prologis. With the Logistics Park Kentner is not only creating impressive resources in the region, but also jobs for 60 new employees, who will work in the multi shift operation. Completion is planned for 1.12.2008.

April 2008: Kentner converts vehicle fleet to Euro-5-Norm.

Environmental awareness is an investment in the future for Kentner. In the last 6 months approx 1.8 million Euros have been invested into the acquisition of new vehicles, which fulfil the Euro-5-Norm, although this will first become effective from 1st September 2009. The advantage for Kentner and clients: the low-emission vehicles can be driven with immediate effect in environmental protection zones without any further formalities.

April 2008: Large project for China.

Large scale project management: Kentner is taking over the European collection or provision for a huge paper machine, which will be dismantled and then reconstructed in China. The individual components will be picked up and either brought immediately to the seaport or firstly consolidated in Heidenheim. The whole transportation of the disassembled machine will require around 1300 to 1400 individual loads, of which there will be several oversized and heavy load transports.
